Last weekend the girls and I were able to go on a trip with Kelly to Lokichokio, Kenya which is near the Sudan border. Saturday morning, Kelly and the other pilot dropped us off in Loki and then flew on into Sudan to drop off a group of doctors and nurses that were on the flight. Then they came back to spend the night in Loki. We were there over the weekend so Sunday we were able to relax before the guys flew again all day Monday. After flying around Sudan all day Monday, they came back to Loki to pick us up on the way back to Nairobi.
The girls loved flying on the DC3. They even got to go up front and "fly" with Kelly for a little while.

Fortunately there was an oasis in this small dusty town - the pool at Kate Camp. It had just been cleaned and was wonderfully refreshing. Despite the fact that it is usually quite hot in Loki, while we were there it rained on Saturday night, Sunday night and then most of the day on Monday. Thankfully it cleared up enough for us to swim since there really wasn't much else for us to do while there. We didn't complain about the cooler weather!!
