Kitengela Field Trip

A couple weeks ago our home school co-op group went on a field trip to Kitengela Glass http://www.kitengela-glass.com/ to learn how they make their products. It was a very interesting trip! Not only did they give us a demonstration on how they make their glass products but they also had interesting animals to see such as ostriches, large tortoises, pigs, and camels. Above are a couple pictures of our group watching the glass making process.

There was also a hanging bridge going across the gorge - definitely not made by US safety standards! They normally charge 300 shillings to cross the bridge but our group got a bargain price of 150 shillings. Do they charge you in case you fall?? Not sure..... Tara was a brave soul and crossed the bridge.

Kitengela has some little cottages that you can stay in as well as a nice pool with beautiful mosaics all around the sides.

Gotta love their bathrooms! Below is a picture of a long drop with a mosaic throne to sit on!
