Water balloons in December?

I love December! One of my favorite activities for the month is decorating my house for Christmas. This year was even more fun because the girls could help me more and they were so excited about each and every ornament that was taken out of the box. They didn’t remember any of them because the last time we used our decorations was two years ago in Kabul. (Thankfully we were able to ship at least some of our decorations so I didn’t have to start from scratch!) Last year we were in Colorado with Kelly’s family for Christmas so none of our decorations were ever unpacked. I have a few new decorations too such as the wrought iron Christmas tree with candles pictured below – thanks Michelle!

Rather than fresh fallen snow, we are enjoying warm, sunny days. The girls had a water balloon fight a few days ago. Watch out for that huge one behind Marissa in the second photo!

Tara and Rissa sang a song at a Christmas program at church the other day. Rissa loved being "on stage". Some days that is what she wants to be when she grows up - "A singer on stage."
